Fetish, Red Blend, Barossa Valley, Australia  ($19.99) - This red blend from Australia reveals a deep ruby/purple hue along with oaky aromas intermixed with notions of blackberries, cherries and licorice.  Try this selection with meat dishes, robust vegetarian dishes, mushroom dishes, or just enjoy on its own.  Robert Parker 92 points.

 

Hall, Sauvignon Blanc, Napa Valley, California  ($19.99) - This wine was featured in Sauce Magazine as one of the three wines you should drink right now. Ruby red grapefruit leaps from the glass and continues through the lengthy palate. It is framed by a lively acidity that delivers a clean, crisp rise in the mid-palate. This should be the centerpiece of any romantic Valentine’s Day date. Wine Enthusiast 90 points.

Cusumano, Nero d’Avola, Sicily, Italy  ($14.99) - Lovely nose of crushed rose petals and sweet cherries. Flavors are full-bodied, with lovely fruit, fine tannins and a long, flavorful finish.  Pair this selection with any of your Italian meals, especially spaghetti with tomato and meat sauce. Wine Spectator 85 points.

Heating Things Up for Valentine’s Day

GENTLEMAN: Thursday, Febrauary 14 is Valentine’s Day, and Saint Louis Cellars has everything you need for the special day.  Check out some of our Valentine’s Day recommendations:

Una Rosa, Nero d’Avola, Sicily, Italy ($18.99)  -  Ripe, dark cherry and plum fruit in the mouth and soft oak overtones with a velvety texture describe this wine. The fruit has a supple sweetness and distinct character with a spicy, lasting finish. It pairs well with pasta with meat sauces, roast and grilled beef, game and hard cheeses.

 

Quady Elysium, 375ml Black Muscat, California ($17.99)  -  The provative rose and litchi aromas resonate from this Black Muscat grape variety. Elysium is used to either accompany or replace dessert. It is wonderful with blue cheeses, with desserts containing red fruits (such as Summer Pudding, an English favorite), with vanilla, with dark chocolate, with ice cream desserts, and candlelight. Try pouring this wine onto vanilla ice cream.

Elvis Presley–also known as impersonator Steve Davis–celebrated his 73rd birthday with his fans at Saint Louis Cellars on January 8th. He serenaded the crowd, told stories about his life, shared birthday cake and tasted our 6 Elvis wines:
