Oprah’s Favorite Things at the Cellars!!

O, Oprah Winfrey’s monthly magazine, has released their list of favorite wines under $15, and two wines available and Saint Louis Cellars made the list:  Mionetto “il” Prosecco and French Rabbit Petit Chardonnay-Sauvignon Blend!

 

Mionetto “il” Prosecco ($13.99) is a bubbly out of Italy.  Its delicate peachy aroma and flavor invites a taste that is yeasty and crisp with bubbles that tickle the tongue, even if they’re not evident in the glass.  It is a first-rate aperitif and goes well with a range of foods including such spicy fare as a Cajun andouille and tasso gumbo.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

The French Rabbit Chardonnay/Sauvignon Blanc blend ($12.99/4pk) comes in “petit” 250ml packs. It shows a brilliant pale yellow color while the nose expresses hints of white flowers, fresh brioche and honey.  On the palate, the wine is rich with peaches and apricots accompanied by a generous, well-balanced, lingering fruity finish.  It pairs beautifully with fresh salads or grilled tuna.

Cellars Gives Back 100% to BackStoppers!!

Wednesday, August 13th from 11:00am – 7:00pm, Saint Louis Cellars was proud to hold an all day fundraiser for BackStoppers, in memory of fallen Maplewood Firefighter Ryan Hummert. We were able to raise just over $2,500 for the organization!!  Saint Louis Cellars donated 100% of the sales from our Firehose Riesling and Gewürztraminer to BackStoppers, and on top of that, the winemaker will also be donating $1 for every bottle sold. Fire Districts from all over the city were present at the event, including firemen all the way from St. Charles, Missouri to Belleville, Illinois and everywhere in between.  Thank you everyone who made it out and/or who made a donation to this extremely worthy cause!!

Fundraiser for BackStoppers on Wednesday, August 13th!!

Wednesday, August 13th from 11:00am until 7:00pm, Saint Louis Cellars will be holding a fundraiser for BackStoppers in memory of fallen Maplewood Firefighter Ryan Hummert.

Saint Louis Cellars will be donating 100% of the sales from every bottle of Firehose Riesling and Firehose Gewürztraminer sold to BackStoppers in memory of Hummert.  The winemaker will also donate $1 for every bottle sold to Backstoppers as well.  Both of the Firehose wines retail at Saint Louis Cellars for $10.99 per bottle.

Started in 1959, The BackStoppers provides needed support and financial assistance to the spouses and children of all local and county police officers, firefighters, publicly-funded paramedics and EMTs and volunteer fire protection units, who have lost their lives performing their duty.
