The 5th Edition of the Jailhouse Rock Merlot by Graceland Cellars has arrived at Saint Louis Cellars!  Each edition of this wine features a different iconic image of Elvis Presley, and this edition delivers a great one!  Aromas of berries and fresh herbs are followed by the varietal characteristics of red currant, green olives, sage and wild berries.  Notes of toasty oak and vanilla with soft and supple tannins are typical of Merlot.  Great on its own or with roasted pork or grilled meats, and it is available at Saint Louis Cellars for $12.99.

Saint Louis Cellars Expanding Into New Food & Wine Venture

Saint Louis Cellars owners Matt and Jennifer Williams expanding into Saint Louis Cellars Food & Wine, a carry-out-style café and wine bar that will be an extension of the current Saint Louis Cellars building in Maplewood.  Saint Louis Cellars Food & Wine is slated to open in Spring 2009.

Saint Louis Cellars Food & Wine features chef-inspired lunches, gift baskets, café-style tables, wines by the glass, a wine bar for private events, and event space for both large and intimate private parties.  The business will adjoin Saint Louis Cellars wine store located at 2640 S. Big Bend (just north of Manchester Rd.) in Maplewood, and will allow the wine store to expand their current wine and retail lines.

Elvis’ Birthday Party A Success!!

On Tuesday, January 6th, Saint Louis Cellars was proud to host a birthday celebration for “The King” himself: Elvis Presley!  Over 200 people came to the event, which included tastings of Graceland Cellars wines, food by Chef Greg Maggi (including peanut butter and banana sandwiches, mini burgers, brownies and deviled eggs, among others), and a birthday cake from McArthur’s Bakery.  The event also featured a rousing performance by Elvis himself, aka world-renowned Elvis impersonator, Steve Davis, who performed his 45 minute “Memories of Elvis” show, like the show he will be performing at The Pageant in the Loop this Saturday night.  Thank you to everyone who came out the event!!
