We’ve all heard how wine is good for your health, but you’d be surprised about the other benefits of wine…
FAT BLOCKER — Researchers at the University of Ulm in Germany found that resveratrol, an anti-oxidant in grape skin, blocks fat storage in fat cells. It also helps curve health risks such as clogged arteries and even diabetes.
BODY RELAXER — The antioxidants in wine have been found to help heal damaged skin. A spa treatment at the Four Seasons Resort The Biltmore Santa Barbara calls for adding 20 drops of jasmine essential oil, 1/4 cup grape seed oil, 1 cup of Epsom or sea salt, and 1/2 bottle of red wine to your bath and soak for 20 glorious minutes.
STAIN LIFTER — Probably the most surprising benefit of all, nothing treats a red wine stain better than white wine. Author of Natural Stain Removal Secrets Deborah Martin instructs that you should carefully pour white wine onto the stain, cover with salt to absorb the liquid, then shake off the salt, blot with club soda and launder as usual.
SAFE MARINADE — For your next barbecue, try marinading your beef in red wine for 2 hours. Researchers from the University of Porto in Portugal found that red wine had up to 88% fewer carcinogens after grilling than unmarinated beef.
