Planning a Family Picnic?
September 23, 2009 · Comments Off

Kevin and Kristine are looking for a break from the ordinary. They have four daughters and want to take everyone out for a family picnic at Oak Knoll Park. On their way to the park, they all stop into Saint Louis Cellars Food & Wine and pick up everything they’ll need for a nice day out. They order two BBQ Chicken Flatbreads ($8.99ea.), some Loaded Up Pasta Salad ($7.99/lb.) from the “To-Go” case, two oversized Chocolate Chip Cookies ($2.49ea.), a bottle of Mommy’s Time Out Pinot Grigio ($9.99), which is available chilled in the Grab-&-Go cooler and some Fitz’s Root Beer ($5.99/4pk) for the kids. There is plenty of food for the whole family, and they spend the rest of the day playing and relaxing in the park!

Chocolate Wine?? At Last!!
September 14, 2009 · Comments Off

You never thought it was possible to combine two of your favorite things of all time: chocolate and wine!! Saint Louis Cellars Food & Wine is here to announce that it has happened, with ChocoVine: Chocolate Wine! Most people think, “Could it be any good?” and the answer is YES! The flavors are similar to Bailey’s Liqueur, but with a wine kick, and we’ve been selling them like crazy since bringing it in just a few days ago…we can barely keep the shelves stocked! This spirit from Holland features The sweet taste of Dutch chocolate and fine red wine. Shake well, store in a cool dark place and consume within six months of opening. It adds a continental spirit to any occasion. Best enjoyed on its own, but if you are going to mix it with something, do NOT mix it with acidic drinks! ChocoVine is new and available at Saint Louis Cellars Food & Wine for $13.99 per bottle. Stop in today and get both your chocolate and wine fix with this awesome new selection!

Local Businesses’ Products Featured at the Cellars!
September 14, 2009 · Comments Off
Saint Louis Cellars Food & Wine loves to support local businesses, and we’ve brought in a bunch of foods available everyday that are made fresh right here in St. Louis!

Saint Louis Cellars Food & Wine now features Switzer’s Licorice (available: Chewy Cherry Bites and Chewy Licorice Bites, $2.49ea.) As it says on their website, “Grandpa Switzer started making licorice in 1888. He’d proudly push carts of his candy along the riverfront in St. Louis, in an area now called Laclede’s Landing. The licorice he loved had a rich, bold taste and a soft, chewy texture. While we have added real fruit juice to the Cherry Red, it remains the low fat food it was over 100 years ago.”

Enjoying that Saint Louis Cellars Food & Wine sandwich, flatbread or panini? Well, we have Kirkwood’s own Breadsmith to thank for that! Delivered each and every morning, we make every sandwich fresh with the amazing baked breads from this local gem!

Some of our favorite additions to our array of foods has to be desserts from St. Louis-based Truffes! Since 1987, Truffes has been evolving into one of the most respected speciality bakeries in St. Louis, headed by Helen Fletcher, one of the Midwest’s most well-known culinary figures! Available at Saint Louis Cellars Food & Wine: Cupcakes (Chocolate with Chocolate Icing, Vanilla with Chocolate Icing, Lemon with Lemon Icing, Yellow with Chocolate Icing), Santa Fe Brownies and Lemon Squares (all $2.49ea.)

The Billy Goat Chip Company is well-known around St. Louis for their handmade, thinly sliced and perfectly delicious potato chips. Once you’ve had a Billy Goat Chip, you’ll be a fan for life! Saint Louis Cellars Food & Wine is so excited to now have their chips available in our store! ($2.99/bag)
